Aokigahara forest also known as “Suicide Forest” is located at the northwest base of Mount Fuji. Next to Golden Gate Bridge, it is the most popular suicide place on earth according to The Wall Street Journal article published online in 2006. In 2010 alone, more than 200 people had attempted to commit suicide in the forest as reported by The Japan Times based on police records. The forest, also referred to as Sea of Trees, has a spectacular view from afar but once you enter, everything changes.
